Our Design Process

One of the most common questions we hear from new clients is, “How does this work?” If you've never worked with an interior designer before, it's a great place to start. This section briefly outlines the design process step by step—so you’ll know exactly what to expect from the initial consultation to the final reveal of your renovated space.

Step 1 - Initial Consultation

This is where we begin. We'll meet to discuss the project details and get to know each other. It’s a chance for you to ask questions, share your goals, and decide if From a Seed Interiors is the right fit for your vision.

Step 2 - Design Proposal

After our consultation, we’ll prepare a detailed design proposal outlining the scope of work, our responsibilities, and a fixed project fee. Once you've reviewed the proposal and requested any revisions, we’ll move forward into the exciting part—design!

Step 3 - Gathering Inspiration & Site Assessment

We begin by exploring your vision—through inspiration, photos, or mood boards—and take measurements and pictures of each room to be renovated. This helps us tailor the design to reflect your style, preferences, and how you want each room to function.

Step 4 - Design Development Begins

We turn the measurements into detailed plans, elevations, and 3D renderings—letting you visualize your space before construction. Every element is customized to your needs, with your feedback guiding the collaborative design process.

Step 5 - Design Presentation

We present the full design package, including product selections, samples, and room-by-room layouts with explanations. We welcome your feedback and revisions—our goal is to support your vision and ensure the final design feels personal and right for you.

Step 6 - Procurement & Planning

Once the final design is approved, From a Seed Interiors manages sourcing, purchasing, and all logistics—coordinating deliveries, tracking orders, and resolving product issues. We prepare detailed drawings, layouts, elevations, and 3D renderings to share with contractors and or cabinet makers, ensuring everything is built accurately to specification.

Step 7 - Project Coordination & Execution

During the renovation or installation phase, we work closely with your chosen contractor and trades to ensure the design is implemented as intended. We’re on hand to troubleshoot any unexpected challenges that may arise and to make sure every detail aligns with the approved plan.
